Brood & Baron

Conceptual home décor brand that addresses textile waste in Australia.

There is a waste crisis in Australia. Every year, we produce over 2.5 million tonnes of plastic waste and are currently the highest consumer of textiles per person in the world. The environment isn’t the only victim of this — cheap, mass-produced goods promote a homogenisation of style and diminish the value of artisanal craftsmanship.

Brood & Baron is a conceptual home décor brand that transforms discarded materials into one-of-a-kind pieces. Its debut collection features three hand-painted banners made from fabric offcuts, each adorned with a word: “Curse,” “Conjure,” and “Conquer.” Inspired by the infamous “Live Laugh Love” slogan, these pieces subvert generic motivational décor with bold declarations.

Brood & Baron’s visual identity draws from medieval fantasy themes and gothic aesthetics. It encourages slow, thoughtful consumption of artisanal goods and aims to spark dialogue about our relationship with material possessions.
